SAT PREP CENTERModel United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an extra-curricular activity in which students typically roleplay delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. This activity takes place at MUN conferences, which is usually organized by a high school or college MUN club.
What is ATLAS?
ATLAS Leadership and MUN Training Course is a 10-day intensive PROGRAMME aimed at assisting young leaders from around China to enhance their skills required to be responsible and educated global citizens. Following the opening of the PROGRAMME, students are quickly immersed in 7 full days of training courses leading up to the 2-day ATLAS Model United Nations Conference. During this conference, students engage with their peers to resolve pressing global issues under the supervision of experienced MUN mentors, also called “MUN veterans”. In addition to specialized instruction on successful and efficient MUN preparation, students participate in activities that range from theatrical performances to local civic engagement, where they can apply the lessons learned in the classroom.

The 21st century is a time when borders are blurred and distances shrink as the world becomes rapidly more connected through technology, commerce, and education. The best and the brightest students of this era must not only explored their home environments, but must also reach out to their neighbors in different cities, countries, and continents to keep up with the ever-increasing pace of this modern world. You attend ATLAS! You were selected from over 10 of global strongest schools and will be taught by an experienced faculty from 5 continents, because you have already demonstrated your leadership potential. Leadership begins in your school communities but grows when you are placed in a diverse environment where you can learn from highly motivated individuals from around the world. Your fellow students and faculty at ATLAS will expose you to the innovative perspectives necessary to stimulate the global growth that ATLAS encourages. Your commitment to furthering your education in a rigorous and rewarding manner demonstrates your capacity to learn alongside some of the most successful Chinese students.
How will ATLAS accomplish its goals?
Using the ATLAS Tri-Session Curriculum Model, you will identify the capabilities necessary to develop the most essential qualities for any modern leader. For example, it is important not only master your English oral and writing capabilities, but also to understand the contexts in which these skills are used most effectively, hence the premise of MUN. Additionally, gaining factual knowledge about multiple conflicting topics is essential to becoming a global thinker with seasoned perspectives, but more importantly is perfecting the research, speaking, and social skills that will lead you to identify problems, construct potential solutions, and rally support for them from other delegates. The entire ATLAS curriculum will guide you on this journey with a set of 3 clearly defined areas of instructions.
