SAT PREP CENTER

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is one ofthe tests that all students in China need to sit for if they plan to attend aschool based on the American education curriculum. The test is designed tocompare the test taker with a student with a student that has graduated from aUnited States middle school, high school, or college. The score shows how wellyou can survive everyday life, perform in classes, and be part of conversationswith American peers. The TOEFL tests the four basic skills that apply toeveryday life in an English speaking country and makes sure that a student will have a positive experience during their time there. The four sections of the TOEFL are Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing. In order to do well with test, the student will also need to work on their vocabulary. Our TOEFL program employs a strong vocabulary program that utilizes books, reading, computer programs, and online quizzes that all help the student not only memorize, but learn to use the vocabulary they are learning. Our reading program focuses on proper reading skills as well as teaching how the test is designed so that the students know where to look for the answers. We teach writing by explaining exactly how the grader grades the exam and what they are looking for, when done with class, a student will be able to make sure each answer will score the best score they are able to attain. Even our speaking class is above others in being able to not just teach a student what questions to expect and how to answer them, but also how a grader evaluates each answer. Finally, our Listening program is intense and prepares students with not just simple listening exercises, but full on radio programs designed to capture a student’s interest and ability.

SUMMER 2018 !

  • W1-W2 10th to 24th Jul
  • W3-W4 24thJul to 7th Aug
  • W5-W6 7th to 21st Aug
  • W7-W8 21st to 31st Aug
Visible Per 2 Weeks:    Jul 7/10 Jul 7/24 Aug 8/7 Aug 8/21

We recommend that the student be prepared to get two TOEFL scores during their high school career. Since a TOEFL score is only good for applications for two years, the student will use the first TOEFL score for his or her summer camp applications and then the second score for their final college applications. The very top summer programs such as RSI[1], TASP[2]or M&T[3] will require similar scores to the very top universities in the world.

Generally schools ranked from 1-25 will require a 100 score, 25-50 will require a 90, and scores of 80 or below are ok for some schools, but also necessitate the student taking a remedial English course.
